Whimsical and entertaining. Catches people’s eyes.
This one is nice and worth getting. It looks good and is well made and good quality
I have mixed feelings about this collection. Dislike:1. No volume control. You either have music on full blast or off. At this price range I would expect adjustable volume. 2. The figurines are gigantic, alert comically so. There also isn’t consistency in figurine size between different village pieces. So if you have multiple village pieces some of your figurines are small, and then others are very large. 3. The finish on this is subpar, and a bit sloppy. I own multiple village pieces from another collection. I received village pieces from this collection primarily so just younger kids could admire/play with these pieces and hopefully leave my vintage pieces alone. Originally I had these placed in the same location as my original collection, but ended up moving them because the quality between the pieces was noticeable lacking. 4. The LEDS are very bright, almost painful to look at of seen from the right angle.I will saw my younger kids do like these pieces and enjoy the festive music vs the more classical Christmas tunes my original set plays. Since these pieces were more for my kids enjoyment, and they view them favorable, my review is based on that. If you’re a collector and are looking to expand your collection, I wouldn’t recommend these. They are a bit hokey and don’t measure up to the classical pieces. Personally I won’t be getting any more pieces as they are not my taste.
This Oktoberfest version arrived in much better condition than the "White House" version also tested and reviewed. The styrofoam packaging is that lightweight, crumbles apart, foam beads packaging that everyone hates to open as it gets everywhere. I do wish they used a higher quality packaging foam. I imagine they get a lot of returns because of the packaging. The quality of the piece is just not that great. The hand painting looks like it was painted by a young child rather than a skilled artisan. Not happy with the detailing. For the price range these are in I expect a lot more.3 stars at most.
Ive been looking for something less traditional for my christmas diorama Ive been building for the past decade. Most additions of late have been my own creations. So it was great to find something so unique and original. Now Im not german, but I really like the look and feel of the pretzel shop and the traditional accordion player. This fits amazingly well with the scale of my set, even though its not stated to be the scale I was aiming for. Which if you get into something like this the scale of things means very little as its changes from manufacturer to manufacturer. As for quality its top notch, its obviously hand painted professionally and very well. The lighting is perfect and needs no adjustment. The detail is that of something that easily cost 3x as much as this. It does have music, which is a cool bonus and if displayed on its own would be useful, but for my scenario I dont use the music feature. All in all this is a great addition to my diorama.
